Medical Assistant Supervisor - Boise 23rd
General Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant Supervisor coordinates a team of medical assistants, providing instruction, training, coordination and support to ensure smooth processes. Under general supervision and in accordance with established department policies, procedures, care protocols, and provider orders, this position will work within the Patient Centered Medical Home model to systematically analyze patient health information to identify and coordinate the care needs of the individual patient focusing on the continuity of care. The Medical Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the coordination of proactive care for patients with chronic conditions as well as identifying wellness and/or preventative services for clinical patients. The Medical Assistant Supervisor will perform direct supervision of all Medical Assistants within the care team to assure consistency in procedures and high clinical outcomes. Due to the fast-paced work setting, the Medical Assistant Supervisor must demonstrate the ability to multitask, with strong verbal and written communication skills and effective stress management. The Medical Assistant Supervisor demonstrates a "can-do" spirit, a sense of optimism, ownership, and commitment. This position requires working collaboratively with medical, dental, behavioral health and administrative team members. Clinical and administrative oversight and supervision of the Medical Assistant Supervisor is provided by the Nursing Dept. leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program and is currently certified/registered.
- 3 years of medical assisting experience
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with public and other staff persons. Strong customer relations and communication skills with a proven record of customer service excellence. Articulate telephone voice, legible penmanship, reasonable spelling skills and proficient computer skills.
- Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
- Able to handle stress related to demanding or difficult patients/team members, competing priorities, and changing processes.
- Demonstrates cultural sensitivity
- Proven computer and EHR skills.
