Medical Assistant Supervisor

About the role

The Medical Assistant Supervisor oversees daily activities of the medical assistant team, ensuring efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and smooth operations within a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate clinical and administrative tasks of medical assistants
• Manage appointment scheduling to optimize provider availability and patient access
• Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to uphold clinical and operational standards
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to improve service delivery
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety standards, and policies
• Perform Medical Assisting duties as needed

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assisting program or equivalent (LPN, RN, EMT)
• At least 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in a clinical setting
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience
• Proficiency with appointment scheduling systems and EHR
• Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials
• Associate degree or higher in Health Sciences or related field
• Experience in multidisciplinary healthcare teams and quality improvement initiatives
• Leadership or healthcare management training
• Bilingual abilities to support diverse patients
