About the role

Assists the physician and office staff with performance of patient care activities consistent with the established standards of nursing practice. The incumbent shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrate into their work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which they have responsibility.

In communicating with patients, families, visitors and co-workers, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities consistent with established standards of nursing practice.
• Assists the physician and office staff with patient care activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience as defined by the clinic.
• Preferred: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
