Medical Assistant - School Based Health Centers
About the role
The position is available as per diem MA to support the Lincoln Hospital School Based Health Center (SBHC) teams at various schools including Morse, Medomak Valley, Boothbay Region, Wiscasset Middle High Schools, and Lincoln Academy.
Responsibilities
- Support patient outreach, care coordination, and scheduling
- Work within a dynamic team to meet health needs in the community
- Perform assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment
- Function under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- One of the following educational requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
- NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant
