About the role

The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. Typically work on semi-routine assignments. Reports to the Center Administrator of the clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Discusses symptoms, obtains vital signs, administers medications and vaccines, performs phlebotomy, collects specimens, conducts screening tests, sterilizes equipment, maintains exam rooms, documents in electronic records, and collaborates with providers within certification limits.

Requirements

  • Certified or Registered
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • Patient facing and runs the Tuberculosis (TB) screening program

Qualifications

  • 1+ years MA experience in PCO center
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Pay and Schedule

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $44,900 - $60,200 per year.
