About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and skilled Medical Assistants (MAs) to join our Telehealth Services team. This role is pivotal in supporting our healthcare providers and patients through a variety of tasks, including scheduling medical appointments, engaging in Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) and Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), managing documentation and record-keeping, and ensuring effective patient engagement and communication.
Schedule
Shifts may vary between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. EST, with weekend and holiday shifts compensated at a rate of $25.00 per hour. This role is 40 hours per week with 5 eight-hour shifts Monday-Friday, including rotating weekends (one weekend every 6-8 weeks to include Saturday and Sunday). When you work the weekend, you will have the following Monday and Tuesday off. Your schedule will need to be within the window of our call hours of 8 a.m.–8 p.m. EST. Example: you could work 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 11 a.m.–7:30 p.m., etc., depending on your preference.
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and Coordination: Efficiently schedule and coordinate medical appointments between patients and healthcare providers. Manage calendar appointments and send reminders to ensure timely healthcare delivery.
- Remote Monitoring: Participate in RTM and RPM activities by assisting in the setup, monitoring, and follow-up of patients using remote health monitoring devices. Communicate with nurses and/or the patient’s provider as appropriate to address any health-related issues or questions.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and encounters. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
- Patient Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, providing them with information, answering their queries, and ensuring they feel supported throughout their care journey.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication between patients, healthcare providers, and other team members. Ensure that all stakeholders are informed about patient care plans and updates.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or relevant clinical experience preferred.
- Previous experience in remote patient monitoring, telehealth, or care coordination is a plus.
- Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and virtual communication tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients remotely.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to manage virtual visits and appointment schedules efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation procedures.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
Technical Requirements
- Computer: Windows or Apple (macOS) computer ONLY (NO Chromebooks, Linux Machines, or Smartphones). Must have at least Windows 10 or macOS 14 Sonoma.
- Hardware:
- Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Equivalent (Windows); Apple Silicon (Macs).
- RAM: 16 GB.
- Headphones: Wired headphones required for optimal audio quality (NO built-in mics).
- Internet Speed: Minimum 100 MBPS download speed and 50 MBPS upload speed. Must have an ethernet cable connecting computer directly into router.
- Browser and System: Use Google Chrome with Amazon Workspaces (regardless of computer type).
- Webcam: A webcam is required for video calls. Most laptops have a built-in webcam, which is acceptable. If your computer does not have a webcam, you will need to use an external webcam.
Recommended Equipment
- A second monitor is highly suggested for laptop users; dual monitors for PC users.
