Medical Assistant- Radiation Therapy, CANCER CENTER

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Aid in delivering primary health care and patient care management.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Absorb and provide patient care.
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
• Show strong blood draw skills are essential.
• Show knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
• Operate and manage lab equipment, including startup, running controls, and shutdown as needed.
• Generate and submit necessary reports.
• Show proficiency with medical equipment and instruments used in patient care.
• Show ability to maintain a safe work environment through adherence to safety hazards and precautions.
• Manage and maintain departmental quality assurance.
• Maintain quality control standards.
• Show calmness and effectiveness in emergency situations.
• Interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Communicate clearly.
• Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
• Assist with CT prep.
• Support training of new employees.
• Perform related work as required.

Qualifications And Experience

• Show professional demeanor and courteous attitude with an emphasis on customer service.
• Show ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
• Show full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Show ability to stand and walk occasionally.
• Show ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Show normal range visual acuity and hearing.
• Show high school diploma or GED and completion of a CNA/Medical Assistant school from an accredited institution, or two years of work experience recommended.
