About the Role

Wythe County Community Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Pulmonology team in Wytheville, VA. This full-time, in-person position offers a day shift schedule and an hourly range of $16.19 - $19.99. Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of a physician or nurse, assist with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care provided.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain examination areas.
• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent.

Skills

• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Required Certification/Licenses

• CCMA, CMA, or RMA certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
