About the role
Join the dedicated team at MaineHealth Behavioral Health's Outpatient Psychiatry practice in Brunswick, where compassionate care and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients throughout their behavioral health journey while working alongside psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, and care coordinators in a collaborative outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Support patients throughout their behavioral health journey in an outpatient psychiatric practice
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, and care coordinators
- Build relationships with patients in a team-based environment
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following: graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; OR completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; OR 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt); Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date (fully remote care team members exempt); A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for positions located in New Hampshire
- Experience: Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant
Benefits
- Sign-on bonuses: $4,000 for 0-1 years of experience (full time); $5,000 for 1+ years of experience (full time). Bonus amount prorated for part time hires; per diem hires ineligible. Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time MA position. Current MaineHealth member employees ineligible; former members ineligible until greater than 6 months separation

Pay
The pay range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
