Medical Assistant - Psychiatric Services - Boise 23rd
General Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant for Psychiatric Services works in an integrated care practice team environment, promoting and contributing to a positive patient care experience through the delivery of high quality and compassionate care. This role takes on additional roles within the care team, sometimes acting as a trainer/ resource/mentor for other Medical Assistants and team members. This role supports and coordinates efficient clinical workflow and communicates accurately, positively, and professionally with all team members and patients. This role is required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant, as well as additional tasks and responsibilities and functions as a primary clinical support staff for specialized patients with crossover to psychiatric services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medial Assisting program and is currently certified/registered.
- Two-three years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- One year of experience as a Medical Assistant working with patients seeking or engaged in psychiatric related care or treatment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with public and other staff persons.
- Strong customer relations and communication skills with a proven record of customer service excellence.
- Articulate telephone voice, legible penmanship, reasonable spelling skills and proficient computer skills.
- Able to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activities and tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and use sound judgment.
- Able to handle stress related to demanding or difficult patients/team members, competing priorities, and changing processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
