Medical Assistant - Psychiatric Medication Services - Brentwood - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

About the role

The Medical Assistant works with the physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties in the “Front Office” or “Back Office.” This role supports smooth patient flow within the department, including gathering, organizing, and documenting healthcare data. The Medical Assistant reports directly to the practice manager, RN supervisor, or director. Additionally, this position supports Walnut Creek Psychiatric Medication Services as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical and administrative patient-related duties in front or back office settings.
• Ensure smooth patient flow within the department.
• Gather, organize, and document healthcare data and information.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• 3 years of Medical Assisting experience.
• Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• 1 year of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) preferred.
• Completion and documentation of California requirements with demonstrated competency for venipuncture/phlebotomy (preferred, required for specific departments).

Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual preferred.

Pay

Pay range: $32.87 - $44.38 hourly. Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Schedule

• Work Shift: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Monday through Friday).
• Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40.
