We are dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare and transforming the delivery of medical services. This role involves covering clinical offices based on operational needs, assisting in patient examinations under the direction of a Physician or Allied Health professional, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an intermediary between physicians and patients to optimize physician time.
  • Collect and record patient data, ensuring charts are organized and up-to-date.
  • Log procedures, billing, and patient charges accurately and on time.
  • Document patient instructions, injections, and scheduled medications.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs and completing consent forms.
  • Demonstrate technical skills in patient care, including injections, wound care, and handling body fluids while adhering to safety and sterile techniques.
  • Explain procedures to patients and families to ensure cooperation and understanding.
  • Prepare and clean examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist physicians with procedures.
  • Administer prescribed medications orally or by injection (per policy) and document details in patient charts.
  • Perform electrocardiographs (EKG), pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments, and operate other certified equipment.
  • Complete all documentation to ensure accurate medical records.
  • Verify physician signatures and ensure all orders are carried out.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies, discarding expired medications and supplies.
  • Support and adhere to nursing policies, Riverside Medical Clinic policies, and Medical Assistant scope of practice.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One (1) year of medical group experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification required.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification required.
  • Thorough knowledge of infection control and aseptic techniques.
