Medical Assistant - PRN

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
• Absorb and prepare patients for provider evaluation by recording histories, vital signs, and documentation while recognizing acuity levels for appropriate intervention

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification
• Certified Medical Assistant is preferred
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable

• Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour/week schedule, consisting of 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend.
• Prn team members are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join our team in the Mt. Juliet, TN area. The Medical Assistant provides clinical care to patients in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings.
