Medical Assistant PRN
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. You will work alongside healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our patients, performing both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our occupational medicine clinic.
Responsibilities
- Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling billing and coding tasks
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
- Perform basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
- Assist providers with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples, and other clinical duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the back office and exam rooms
- Provide patient education and answer patient questions
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards
- Follow company policies, procedures, and directives
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operation of the practice
- Assist with medical procedures as needed
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred
