For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering sign-on bonuses for Medical Assistants. Candidates with 0-1 years of experience are eligible for a $4,000 bonus, and those with 1+ years are eligible for a $5,000 bonus. Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part time MA position, with the bonus amount prorated for Part time hires and per diem hires being ineligible.

About the role

MaineHealth Primary Care – Waldoboro is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Medical Assistant to provide exceptional care in a collaborative and supportive practice. In this role, you'll be an essential member of the clinical team, helping deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while building meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues alike.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient care activities
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Collect and document patient health information
  • Prepare examination rooms and equipment
  • Communicate with patients to gather and relay information
  • Manage patient records and scheduling
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
  • Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification required (exempt for MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years)
  • Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Fully remote care team members are exempt from BLS certification requirement
  • A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
  • Six months of experience as a Medical Assistant or one year as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant

Pay

The base range for this position is $21.09 to $27.12 per hour. Compensation for part-time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
