About the Role
As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will support our clinical team by:
- Providing patient care under the direction of the clinician, assisting in gathering information relevant to the patient’s visit and condition.
- Communicating clearly with patients through telephone and in-person interactions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, with attention to detail and follow-through.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients with acute and chronic needs in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Assist providers in gathering patient information during visits.
- Engage in effective communication with patients across multiple modalities.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to support patient care.
- Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and protection of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Requirements
- Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program or at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience or current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state of Utah.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for healthcare providers (must be obtained prior to start date).
- Demonstrated basic computer skills, including word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and deliver high levels of patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and relevant software.
- Current national MA certification from one of the following: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.
Utah Only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.
Schedule
Full-Time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM).
Pay
The hourly range for this position is $20.07 - $28.59, with the actual rate dependent upon experience.
