About the role

Working Under the direction of physician/provider. The MA is responsible to assist in the examination and treatment of patients delivering high quality care and services, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical assistance under the supervision of a physician/provider

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program
  • One year medical assisting experience in an ambulatory/clinical setting preferred
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant required or obtainable within 90 days of employment
  • CPR certification required or obtainable within 90 days of employment
  • Casting and splinting experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Skills

  • Basic computer literacy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of CLIA and OSHA guidelines
  • Knowledge of sterilization and disinfection procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs
  • Knowledge of medical and pharmacology terminology and medical office procedures
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products
  • EPIC Preferred
  • Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
  • Strong attention to detail skills

Physical Requirements

  • Standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
  • Performing repetitive tasks
  • Working with challenging patients and clients
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally

Pay

3% 401K Contribution, even if you do not contribute (after 90 days of employment)

Schedule

Clinic Hours are Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (Actual scheduled hours may vary depending on business need)
