Medical Assistant - Per Diem

About the role

The Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is a mission-driven non-profit organization with over 700 staff members dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in the Merrimack Valley. GLFHC is nationally recognized for its community medicine services including family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine, and geriatrics. It operates multiple clinical sites and sponsors the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing patients and recording medical histories
• Confirming patient visit purposes and assisting clinicians with care
• Preparing patients for visits by taking vital signs and reporting information
• Performing EKGs, ear irrigations, throat cultures, and urinalyses
• Conducting flu and glucose tests, as well as INR testing
• Ensuring test results are documented in medical records
• Determining and setting up exam room equipment needs
• Aiding clinicians with treatments and dressings
• Translating for providers if certified

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
• Completion of a medical interpreter course recommended
• CPR certification
• Graduation from a medical assistant program

Pay
