Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes, ensuring accurate information recording
• Collect and process lab specimens, including venipuncture and diagnostic tests
• Record patients' vital signs
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Assist providers and other support staff in the data entry process
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and all office procedures
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Medical Assistant Certificate and a High School Diploma
• Proficiency with an EMR system (Preferred)
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred)
• Ability to work prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and ability to utilize appropriate PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYH locations for patient care needs
