About the Role

We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Vernon Hills, IL. This full-time position offers hours between 8am – 4:30pm with rotating weekends and may require travel to other sites based on department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for office visit
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like blood pressure, height, and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association
  • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office or related field

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program (preferred)
  • Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) (preferred)

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
