About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant to join our Primary Care team in Vernon Hills, IL. This full-time position offers hours between 8am – 4:30pm with rotating weekends and may require travel to other sites based on department needs.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like blood pressure, height, and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association
- One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office or related field
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program (preferred)
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) (preferred)
Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
