Medical Assistant - Part Time
About the role
Hamilton Health Box (HHB) is a rapidly growing healthcare startup operating hybrid telemedicine-enabled primary care clinics for small and medium businesses across the country. The On-Site Clinical Assistant (OSC) is accountable to the Pod Manager and responsible for carrying out the daily clinical and administrative operations of a Hamilton Health Box location. This includes interacting with patients for scheduling and follow-up, delivering protocol-driven care as ordered by the Provider, and implementing initiatives like preventative screening and health education. The OSC may coordinate care delivery with pharmacy services and referral networks and communicate barriers to effective care to the Pod Manager. The role requires building and maintaining interpersonal relationships with staff, providers, patients, and the local community. There may be travel required to local locations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure employees receive appropriate care and programs.
- Formulate individualized programs based on health risk assessment results, targeting high-need departments with programs and interventions.
- Assist with annual physicals, placement examinations, screenings, testing, and results reporting.
- Help schedule and complete follow-up exams, return-to-work exams, and consultations.
- Coordinate client referrals to other providers and perform follow-up evaluations with detailed documentation.
- Document in each employee's medical record.
- Participate in formal classes for groups of employees and coordinate health fairs.
- Conduct training sessions for regulatory requirements.
- Collect and interpret data on one-on-one interactions and program offerings, ensuring timely and thorough documentation.
- Provide one-on-one counseling/coaching with clients and interpret screening services.
- Consult with employees regarding health awareness, education, and care navigation.
- Consult with internal and external partners to provide care navigation and build teams.
- Ensure a safe working environment by following regulatory agency and organizational policies.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested by the PA/Nurse/Medical Assistant.
- Work within electronic medical records and other software solutions to register patients, document visits, and health education.
- Complete other tasks as specified in the HHB OSC Training Manual.
- May need to travel between clinics.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels throughout an organization.

- Knowledge of specific disease and lifestyle-related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, stress reduction, and chronic conditions.

- Smartphone required (250 MB for timekeeping app).
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (Licensed MA preferred).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) – required prior to onboarding (American Heart Association or Red Cross ONLY).

Pay
$18.00 to $24.00/hour, depending on experience.

Part-time, hourly. This position is located in Hobart, OK.
