About the role

This position assists the physician/nurse practitioner in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of a physician. This role interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts. The position prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients and will be cross-trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care. Tasks include patient-related duties, medical record maintenance/documentation, and safety/environmental duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support to physicians/clinical staff.
  • Skillfully performs/obtains tests and specimens assuring proper departmental procedures are followed.
  • Performs technical skills according to hospital's and department's policies/procedures, appropriate competencies, and accepted standards of practice.
  • Maintains a high level of efficiency, organization, and time management skills to promote efficiency in the Medical Center.
  • Functions successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and phone skills.
  • Shows courtesy and respect toward patients, professionals, and team members.
  • Notifies appropriate team members of abnormal test results or emergent situations.
  • Accurately documents patient care in charts, maintains confidentiality of patient records, and files appropriate documentation.
  • Accurately and safely maintains general appearance and cleanliness of exam rooms, supply areas, and nurses station.
  • Disposes of contaminated equipment and disposable supplies in accordance with infection control guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Experience with injections and venipuncture
  • Performance of common lab tests according to established CLIA guidelines and TriHealth policy
  • Up to 1 year of experience in a physician office or related setting
  • Pain Management experience is a plus

Schedule

  • Full time, 80 hours biweekly
  • Day shift
  • Monday - Friday
  • No weekends or holidays commitment
