Medical Assistant - Orthopedics and Surgical Podiatry Clinic
About the Role
Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team. As an MA, you'll play a vital role in supporting Physician Services providers at Lake Cumberland Physician Practices (LCPP) by providing high-quality clinical care and administrative support. This position is essential in ensuring efficient clinic operations, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assists with performing patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a physician or nurse.
- Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
- Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. 6. Documents patient care given.
- Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
- Maintains examination areas.
- Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistance program or equivalent preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 60 days of hire.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and administrative skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. They should be able to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support patient flow and revenue cycle processes.
