Summary
Assists providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments. Obtains patient histories, performs routine lab procedures, and prepares specimens for transport to the lab. Follows up on test orders and communicates results to providers and patients. Maintains patient education materials, medical equipment, and clinical supplies. Creates and updates patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent GED required. Technical Program Completion or Degree preferred, with specialization in Medical Assisting preferred.
- Credentials: Approved Medical Assistant Certification required within 6 months of hire date, or proof of active license/certification as an EMT, NREMT, LPN, or Paramedic.
- Experience: Medical Assistant experience preferred.
