Medical Assistant or LPN - Cardiology Clearwater

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance to providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Collects and documents patient histories, conducts routine laboratory procedures, prepares specimens for laboratory transport, and follows up on test orders.
• Communicates test results to both the provider and the patient, educates patients on their care, maintains medical equipment, and orders necessary clinical supplies.
• Updates and maintains patient electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Maintains compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations.
• Performs other tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six months of employment or proof of active license/certification.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification.
• Paramedic certification.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant externship is highly recommended and should be included in the application and resume.
• Provide details of the externship location and dates.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (hours may vary).
