Medical Assistant or LPN - Cardiology

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN in our busy Cardiology practice, you will support providers in delivering high-quality cardiovascular care while ensuring efficient daily clinic operations and an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities include:

• Aid providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Obtain patient histories and prepare patients for visits
• Record vital signs and document clinical information in the EMR
• Perform routine clinical procedures and specimen collection as needed
• Follow up on diagnostic testing, referrals, and provider orders
• Communicate test results and care instructions to patients
• Maintain patient education materials and support care coordination
• Manage medical equipment and clinical supplies
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and BayCare standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Preferred: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training
• Experience: Two (2) years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice or specialty clinic
• Cardiology experience preferred

Licensure / Certification

• Required: Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following: EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician), Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Additional Preference: Completed a Medical Assistant externship, including location and dates on your application and resume
