About the role
Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or EMT to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to providers and team members to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a high quality and consistent approach to patient care.
- Be a caring, courteous, and efficient individual with strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Provide exceptional support to providers and team members.
- Work as the liaison between patients and medical providers.
- Escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate.
- Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood, and assist providers with procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as eye exams, electrocardiographs, audiograms, peak flows, and other basic nursing functions.
- Complete medical charting, including medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
- Perform both DOT and non-DOT urine drug screens, ensuring proper chain of custody and preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratories.
- Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
- Complete administrative tasks such as obtaining patient medical history, current medications, chief complaints, vital signs, and records information within the EMR system.
Requirements
- Must have a current certification as a Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred).
- Nurse (LPN) must provide proof of current certification.
- Two years of clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No experience with CNA’s, PMD’s, or NPs.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA): $17.00 - $24.00
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): $21.00 - $28.00
Skills
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR systems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to perform clinical intake, administer medications, and assist with procedures.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tests and ability to perform them.
- Experience with drug screening and documentation.
- Ability to monitor inventory and complete administrative tasks.

Pay
Hourly salary range: $17.00 - $28.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week with a rotation on weekends and some holidays. MA positions may require travel to multiple clinic centers across the defined region to support critical shifts.
