Medical Assistant - Oncology

About the role

Pali Momi Medical Center, with 118 beds and a medical staff of over 400 physicians, serves the communities of Central and West O'ahu. The hospital is known for its innovative services, including an interventional cardiac catheterization unit, a minimally invasive surgical suite, and a comprehensive women's center. Pali Momi is also the only facility in Hawaii using a team triage approach in its emergency room.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care activities for clients of all ages
• Work closely with the dedicated team of physicians and medical staff to provide thorough health services
• Ensure prompt evaluation of patients by emergency physicians
• Support the multidisciplinary specialized care teams in treating specific types of cancer

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by the end of the orientation period

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) from AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT, Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from NCCT, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMCA, Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) from AMCA, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from NHA, Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from NAHP, or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) from NAHP
