Role Overview:

This role supports our procedure suite and is ideal for someone who thrives in an active, hands-on clinical environment. Responsibilities include:

  1. Assisting with procedure time-outs alongside the physician and radiology tech
  2. Helping patients on and off the procedure table
  3. Supporting recovery
  4. MAs with patient discharge
  5. Assisting Intake MAs with room turnover.

  • Skilled at identifying and resolving bottlenecks to keep patient flow safe and efficient

Schedule & Work-Life Balance

This position follows a 4x9 schedule (7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) with either Tuesday or Thursday as the regular day off. We are closed evenings, weekends, and major holidays, and our team strongly prioritizes work-life balance for all staff.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs):

  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following requirements: Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis).
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred or achieved within one year of eligibility. (Prior to 5/01/25 MA IIs with 10 years MA experience and employed by MaineHealth as a MA in the most recent 5 years are exempt from certification requirement) Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire.
  • Experience: One year of experience as a Medical Assistant (without certification) or as a MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant; or 6 months of experience as a certified Medical Assistant.
