Kaua'i Medical Clinic is the island’s largest clinic and only multispecialty medical group. More than 85 physicians and midlevel providers offer primary and specialty care at clinic locations in Eleele, Kapaa, Koloa, and Lihue. The Neurology department provides a broad spectrum of care for adults (18 years and older), evaluating and monitoring conditions such as headache/migraine, stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, dementia/Alzheimer’s, and more. The department also offers diagnostic evaluations (e.g., lumbar puncture, EMG) and therapies (e.g., epidural, Botox, nerve block).

About the role

As a Medical Assistant in our Neurology department, you will join a dedicated team of physicians and medical staff providing compassionate, thorough health services to patients and their families. This role involves performing a wide variety of patient care activities for clients of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care activities for clients of all ages in a Neurology outpatient setting.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Support physicians and medical staff in delivering high-quality care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant with one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
  • Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by the conclusion of the orientation period.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of back-office Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient clinic, physician’s office, or related setting.

Pay

Pay range: $28.26 – $29.75 USD per hour. Rate will be determined based on knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant experience, training, and internal peer equity.

Schedule

Full-time, regular position (1.0 FTE) with a day shift of 8 hours.
