General Summary
To assist providers with patient treatment, prepare patients for providers, and perform various clerical duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
- Aid providers with patient care (e.g., assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
- Perform various clerical duties (e.g., answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
- Escort patients to exam rooms.
- Prepare exam rooms.
- Prepare patients for providers (e.g., histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
- Sterilize and prepare instruments.
- At the request of the physician, call in prescription refills.
- Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
- Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
- Administer injections.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
- Completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (e.g., CMA or RMA).
- Medicare Exclusion List.
Education
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
Preferred
- Clinical medical assisting experience.
