About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, providing direct and indirect patient care, collaborating with providers, and participating in various aspects of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Accepts assignments for patient care within the scope of preparation and current standards of practice.
- Collaborates with providers, LPNs, or RNs to gather data for assessment, planning, and evaluation of care.
- Accurately obtains vital signs, administers care, documents in the electronic health record, performs routine tests, and reinforces patient instruction.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives and complies with organizational policies.
- Engages in telephone screening and patient education, follows clinical practice guidelines, and manages prescription orders.
- Manages administrative and clerical tasks, utilizes organizational resources efficiently, and performs other duties as assigned.

- AHA & ARC certifications accepted.
- Experience in a healthcare setting and electronic health records preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
