About the Role
Provides clinical support by assisting in patient examination and treatment under physician supervision, ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
- Maintains patient flow, reviews systems, and measures vital signs
- Updates medical histories and records information in EMR
- Prepares patient charts and obtains test results
- Manages medication refills and pre-authorizations
- Prepares exam rooms, orders supplies, and handles patient assistance paperwork
- Collects medical information and responds to calls and online messages
- Schedules appointments and completes pre-certifications
- Operates diagnostic equipment such as EKGs
- Performs clinical tasks like phlebotomy and cast removal
- Ensures a safe, confidential, and compliant work environment
- Supports quality care and patient experience
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or Medical Assistant certification preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in diverse care settings
- Proficient in computer systems (EMR, scheduling, Microsoft Office)
- Strong communication skills and willingness to travel between offices
- Clinical skills like phlebotomy, EKG, and suturing are highly desirable
- BLS certification required
