Medical Assistant, Mohs Surgery
Schedule
Part time, 80% FTE, day shift. Hours are Tuesday 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM. No weekends required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Pay

About the role
Join the UW Health dermatology team where you will:
- Assist dermatologists and advanced practice providers in diagnosing and treating diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes in a fast-paced clinic.
- Provide hands-on assistance with dermatology and Mohs surgical procedures, including biopsies, excisions, and wound care.
- Facilitate services such as phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, or laser procedures.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Licensure as an LPN.
- Completion of the UW Health Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program.
- Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UW Health employee.
- Acceptance into the UW Health MA Apprenticeship Program – Accelerated.
- One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification.
Work Experience
One year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN (preferred).
Licenses & Certifications
- Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 year (required).
- Licensure as an LPN upon hire (required).
- If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification upon hire (required).
- CPR/BLS certification upon hire (required).
Location
Eastpark Medical Center – UW Health’s state-of-the-art ambulatory facility located across from East Madison Hospital on Eastpark Blvd. This facility houses specialties including women’s complex care, adult cancer care, advanced imaging and laboratory services, and innovative clinical trials.
