Medical Assistant, Medical Oncology, Baptist MD Anderson South Campus

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs
• Update medical histories
• Reconcile medications
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
• Auxiliary nursing support to the physician and APP
• Greet and chaperone patients as needed during medical visits
• Document in the medical record as indicated per role
• Coordinate care by scheduling appointments, managing referrals, processing prior authorizations, and communicating with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Support clinic workflow
• Provide compassionate assistance to patients and families navigating oncology care

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Basic Life Support (AHA)
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred
