About the role

Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s premier maternity specialty hospital. The Medical Assistant position is within the Fetal Diagnostic Center, providing care to patients and their families.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of patient care activities to clients of all ages.
• Provide thorough health services to Fetal Diagnostic Center patients and their families.
• Work closely with Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, technologists, genetic counselors, and clinical nurses.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), ABR-OE from AAMA, RMA from AMT, NCMA from NCCT, RMA from ARMA, NRCMA from NAHP, CMAC from AMCA, CCMA from NHA.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.

Preferred Experience

• Six (6) months medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of CPT and/or ICD-10 Coding.
• Experience with electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program and/or equivalent experience.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Card.
• Ability to complete departmental competency assessment by conclusion of orientation period.
