Medical Assistant (MA) Urgent Care, Full Time, 10 Hour, 9:30am-8:30pm

About the role

The Medical Assistant works under general supervision to perform a variety of procedures and patient-specific duties. Responsibilities include processing outside referrals (HMO/PPO), maintaining accurate records, and notifying concerned parties of outcomes. The role may require floating between departments and periodic travel.

Responsibilities

• Utilize approved processes to address biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patients and significant others.
• Work in a fast-paced environment involving walking and physically assisting patients.
• Process referrals, maintain records, and communicate outcomes to concerned parties.
• Adapt to changes in Medical Assistant scope of practice and departmental requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum six (6) months of front and back medical office experience (two years preferred).
• Valid California Driver’s License if applying for the Medical Assistant Float Pool.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Strong verbal and written English skills; bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control, patient safety, and EHR systems.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
• Strong computer skills (data entry, typing).
• Good visual acuity, motor coordination, and adaptability.
• Ability to maintain composure in high-activity environments.

Pay

$23.00–$33.12 per hour, with a $1.28 evening shift differential.
