What You’ll Do

• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30-5:00PM
• As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.
• As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will:
• Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
• Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
• Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

About This Location

Aurora Six Points Clinic is located right in the heart of West Allis, Wisconsin, and provides exceptional family medicine care for patients of all ages. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including routine physicals, women's health, newborn and well-childcare, sick visits, chronic disease management, and much more. Our clinic also features specialized programs such as Medical Weight Management and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT).

One of the highlights of the Six Points Clinic is our status as a Collaborative Care Clinic. We utilize advanced collaborative care technology that allows patients to bypass the waiting room and head directly into an exam room. Each patient receives a badge and is assigned a private room to await their care provider. The real-time location technology within the badge enables physicians and staff to see exactly when and where patients are roomed, so they can be seen as quickly as possible.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
• May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
• Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
