Job Summary

Ambulatory nursing care team sees 5.2 million outpatient and clinic visits annually. Culture focuses on treating patients and co-workers like family. Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Variety in day, strong team support, and chance to make a real impact in a rural community.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the health, comfort and safety of patients
  • Documents a thorough medical history from patient
  • Contributes to the assessment of patients and administers medications or treatments as ordered
  • Provides technical support to healthcare professionals
  • Counsels patients and family, under the direction of a registered nurse, on prevention and treatment plans

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • If IV therapy/management skills required, must graduate from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or complete an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
  • Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program
  • Nationally certified or registered as a Medical Assistant (MA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
