About the Role
Performs clinical duties in physician practices under the direction of the practice manager and physicians. Responsible for rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering injections and medications, performing EKGs and other point-of-care testing and treatments, triaging phone calls and electronic messages, and performing check-out duties. Promotes teamwork with all members of the healthcare team and performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain/document vital signs
- Administer injections and medications
- Perform EKGs and other point-of-care testing and treatments
- Triage phone calls and electronic messages
- Perform check-out duties
- Promote teamwork with all members of the healthcare team
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous medical assistant experience in vital sign accuracy, EKGs, medication administration, and immunizations
