In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

What You'll Do

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Auxiliary tasks such as assisting providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Care coordination and serving as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

General Requirements

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA Externship;MA Internship;Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program;Paramedic program; orCertified Athletic Trainer. If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
• CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: MA-Non-Credentialed I: MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification. MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)American Medical Technologists (RMA)National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years’ clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
