Medical Assistant / MA - Multiple Specialties

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Supports patient visits by greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, taking vital signs, and collecting other relevant medical information.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments, ensuring exam rooms are disinfected and ready for patients.
• Maintains inventory and stocks supplies, instruments, and equipment for exam rooms.
• Manages paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders for completeness.
• Handles referrals and insurance authorizations, including making calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS Certification required within 14 days of start.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Associate’s degree.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
