Description

Position: Medical Assistant (MA) or LPN
Urgent Care
Location: Waterloo, IA
Schedule: 32 hours per week, includes weekends and holidays. 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Affirmatively assist physicians and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, documentation, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Supports the operation of the clinical practice by performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks.
  • Captures and documents vital signs accurately.
  • Prepares patients for examinations and treatments.
  • Assists with basic clinical procedures under the supervision of healthcare providers.
  • Coordinates patient flow, ensuring smooth transitions between appointments and departments.
  • Maintains accurate medical records, including updating patient charts and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensures a positive patient experience by providing courteous and efficient service.

Requirements

  • Must have successfully completed accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • MA Certification/Registration preferred prior to hire and required within one year.
  • OR Must have successfully completed accredited LPN program.
  • LPN License in the state of Iowa.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed.

Skills

  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
