About the role
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the care and coordination of members assigned to their care team. This includes completing clinic tasks to ensure daily patient care and safe clinic flow, monitoring and tracking appointments, following up on no-shows, processing referrals, and scheduling follow-up and specialty appointments. The MA provides excellent internal and external customer service, ensures all patient/client data is accurate and secure, and maintains HIPAA compliance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Successful completion of a credentialed Medical Assistant program required
- Associate’s Degree in the field of healthcare or science preferred
- 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the healthcare field, with exposure to both behavioral health and medical situations required
- Certified Medical Assistant certification (current and in good standing within the State of Arizona) preferred
- Valid AZ Driver’s License in good standing
