About the Role

The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for the care and coordination of members assigned to their care team. In addition, MAs complete clinic tasks to ensure the accomplishment of daily patient care and safe clinic flow. Responsibilities include daily assignments, monitoring and tracking appointments, following up on no-shows, processing referrals, and scheduling follow-up and specialty appointments. This position provides excellent internal and external customer service, ensures all patient/client data is accurate and secure, and maintains HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate care for members assigned to the care team.
  • Complete clinic tasks to ensure daily patient care and safe clinic flow.
  • Monitor and track appointments, follow up on no-shows.
  • Process referrals and schedule follow-up and specialty appointments.
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Ensure accuracy and security of all patient/client data.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Successful completion of a credentialed Medical Assistant program required.
  • Associate’s Degree in healthcare or science preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in the healthcare field, with exposure to both behavioral health and medical situations.
  • Certified Medical Assistant certification (current and in good standing within the State of Arizona) preferred.
  • Valid AZ Driver’s License in good standing.
