Medical Assistant / MA

Reno Orthopedic Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. Ideal candidates are interested in pursuing PA or APRN school and seek healthcare experience to enhance their applications. Responsibilities

• Support physicians during patient visits by greeting patients, guiding them to exam rooms, and preparing them for their appointments.
• Conduct initial medical screenings, blood pressure checks, and gather basic medical histories.
• Accurately document findings in patient’s electronic medical record.
• Complete Meaningful Use and PQRS measures on forms according to clinic standards.
• Assist with treatment procedures, including preparing for injections using sterile techniques and BBP protocols.
• Draw medications for injections and enter proper diagnosis and office visit levels per physician’s orders.
• Manage patient messages and calls, handle prescription refills, and document conversations in the patient’s electronic medical record.
• Maintain and clean patient exam rooms to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Assessment-Based Records in Order Entry certification OR one year of experience in a medical setting.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures, customer service principles and practices.
