Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating patient charts.
- Document patient information in the EMR following best practice standards including compliance with HIPAA.
- Aid providers in examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect/prep specimens for analysis.
- Administer injectable medications and immunizations as ordered by Provider.
- Order, track, and monitor immunizations in adherence with the Vaccines for Children Program and the Wisconsin Immunization Registry.
- Educate patients on follow-up care, procedures, and treatments.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical equipment to ensure a clean, safe environment.
- Auxiliary with scheduling, referrals, and EMR documentation (Epic preferred).
- Triage patient calls and provide support at the front desk.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and patient confidentiality regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
- CPR/BLS Certification required.
- 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working with diverse populations and in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of EMR, medical terminology, medications, immunizations, phlebotomy, and lab preferred.
Qualifications
