Responsibilities
- Apply medical assistant care principles, practices and procedures to assess the needs of a wide variety of medical‑surgical, obstetrics, gynecology and pediatric patients.
- Maintain knowledge of the normal course of diseases, anticipated complications and indicated therapeutic interventions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program.
- Two years of experience in medical assisting in an ambulatory care setting.
- Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is preferred.
- Complete Basic Life Support for Providers every two years and maintain a current BLS certification.
- Ability to pass an extensive background check and pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable record under the Tribe’s policy.
Skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
- Computer literate.
