Medical Assistant - MA

About the role

You will provide DocGo services in Greater Los Angeles by monitoring and delivering directed treatment for complex injuries and illnesses. Each day, you will drive to patients’ homes to provide care under the supervision of an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for patients facing barriers to accessing traditional healthcare. You will practice with synchronous telemedicine support, maintain patient medical records, and adhere to state regulations and DocGo standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a conduit for the medical treatment of the Health Plan Partnerships patient population.
• Navigate conversations related to health management, well-being, medication management, and goals of care.
• Provide supervised, directed treatment of common medical diagnoses.
• Participate in continuing education as required by the state and the DocGo training team.
• Adhere to clinical and safety standards, protocols, and performance metrics.
• Provide care with cultural sensitivity and compassion, leading with a patient-centered approach.
• Perform other related duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

• Must have one of the following certifications: MA, CMA, CCMA, or RMA (Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant).
• Valid CA Driver’s License (for at least 2 years) and an acceptable driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of recent in-person experience as a MA, CMA, CCMA, or RMA in an Urgent Care, Primary Care, or related setting.
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Active and current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Ability to lift and carry 30-40 lbs in a backpack-style equipment bag.

Qualifications

• Clinical work experience with pediatrics (preferred).
• Fluent bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts per week. Must be able to work at least 1 weekend day per week.

Pay

$28 - $32 per hour.
