Medical Assistant (MA)

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to:
  • Oral and written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and exercise independent judgment as needed.
  • Must be able to handle fast-paced, stressful environment while juggling multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• License/Certification: MA Required
• Coursework/Training: Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants, or alternate training program through one of the following: Active National certification/registration: AAMA, AMCA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, NAHP
• Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), EMT, or Paramedic Course Completion/Certification AND Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
• Education And/or Experience: Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.
• Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance: May be exposed to infection when cleaning contaminated rooms. Work is in a fast-paced, changing environment. Normal or corrected vision and hearing required. Must speak, read, write and understand English. Dexterity required to operate equipment. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and possess verbal and clerical skills. Works inside. Walking and standing much of time while on duty. Occasional long shift necessary. Occasional lifting and transferring patients unassisted. Lifts or carries up to 50 pounds. Fast paced environment.
